Matchbox 20 also met with two very special fans at their concert in Raleigh, NC. Band members personally greeted Andrew, a 15 year old being treated for Lymphoma and Michelle recently off treatment for leukemia. Andrew had his guitar signed by the band. Michelle was tearful as she showed the band her homemade poster “Your music saved my life and helped me beat cancer”.

Gabriel Titus had the privilege of presenting MB20 band members with a gold ribbon childhood cancer awareness pin during September 2003, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

MB20 helped brighten the holidays for kids with cancer by donating copies of their concert DVD SHOW. They rallied their Rounder Records who sent DVD’s from other artists for kids and families to enjoy.

Amy who works with these kids daily commented "I have to admit, I LOVED meeting the band and the show, however, I cannot even explain how I felt watching those kids! So many of them have struggled so much over the last few months and to see them let go and be kids, I loved it! "
Dan Smith, RN is the Healthcare Administrator of Camp Hobe and orchestrates their yearly "Hobe Jam". He is also a RAC board member and full time oncology nurse. Dan effused "the buzz around the hospital is overwhelming! No one can stop talking about what an awesome bunch of guys MB20 were, nor about how they ROCKED! Even Heather, who finished a chemo treatment about 2 hours before the show, can't say enough good about the whole thing."
